The Pink Panther/Ο Ροζ Πάνθηρας (2006)

Story

Inept Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) is appointed by Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Kevin Kline) to solve the murder of the coach of the French team and recover the stolen, priceless Pink Panther diamond.

Ο ανίκανος Επιθεωρητής Ζακ Κλουζό (Στιβ Μάρτιν) καλείται από τον Αρχηγό της Αστυνομίας Ντρέιφους (Κέβιν Κλάιν) να βρει τον δολοφόνο του προπονητή της Εθνικής Γαλλίας και να ανακτήσει το κλεμμένο, ανεκτίμητο διαμάντι Ροζ Πάνθηρας.

Review

There is a scene where Clouseau talks about how the injured Dreyfus could “use gentle healing power of laughter”. So could we, but the movie is laugh-free. With very few exceptions, like the ‘good cop, bad cop’ routine by Clouseau himself or when Ponton (Jean Reno) and Clouseau camouflaged themselves as the Presidential Palace’s wall paper (!), the film is not funny.

Υπάρχει μία σκηνή που ο Κλουζό μιλάει για το πώς ο τραυματίας Ντρέιφους θα «χρειαστεί την απαλή θεραπευτική δύναμη του γέλιου». Κι εμείς το ίδιο, μόνο που η ταινία δεν το προκαλεί. Με ελάχιστες εξαιρέσεις, όπως την τεχνική του καλού και του κακού μπάτσου από τον ίδιο τον Κλουζό ή όταν ο Ποντόν (Ζαν Ρενό) κι εκείνος ντύνονται στα χρώματα της ταπετσαρίας του Προεδρικού Μεγάρου(!), αυτό το φιλμ δεν είναι αστείο.
